Walter Lee Miller

Mr. Miller, 84 of Charlotte died, Monday, March 8, 2010, at Hospice and Community Cares in Rock Hill, SC.

A Charlotte native, Mr. Miller was born November 30, 1925, a son of the late Joe L. and Mamie Jubin Miller. Walter was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of WW II and a member of Hoskins Ave Baptist Church. He was employed as a mechanical engineer with Pneumafil Corporation over 25 years and retired from Cates Mechanical engineering. Mr. Miller enjoyed wood working and doting on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents Mr. Miller was preceded in death by a son, David Wilson Miller; five brothers and a sister.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Montez H. Miller of Charlotte; son, John H. Miller and wife, Dawn of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Jeanette Miller Hartis and husband, Andrew of Indian Trail, NC; brothers, Charles “Bede” Miller of Greenville, SC and Forrest “Boosky” Miller of Stallings, NC; sister, Caroline Crabtree of Charlotte, NC and five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A service to celebrate Mr Miller’s life will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, March 11, 2010, at Hoskins Avenue Baptist Church. The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
